Leap Year

Monday, February 29, 2016

You can find me here, thanks. Leap Year on Leap Day! How fitting. It's one of my trusty favorites -- I confess it's on rotation all year long. I do what I want.

In other news, a bonus! And a raise! I'll take it, but it still doesn't make all that chaos and overtime worth it. Truth.

P.S. Not ready for March! It's so bossy.

Snowy Sequoias

Saturday, February 27, 2016

A few days after Christmas, we spontaneously planned a day trip to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. It was a crisp 27 degrees and a major treat to explore and hike in the fresh snow. The park is beyond stunning -- there is so much beauty and history within the land and trees. A grounding reminder of how small we are.

Luckily, it seemed the holiday break and weather kept most visitors away. Yay for chains! It was so nice to have the majority of trails to ourselves -- there may have been a few snowball fights. Husband won. My trusty split pea soup was the perfect pick-me up at one of the scenic overlooks.  And, we found a rad wild huckleberry syrup. As if we needed another reason to return. Warmer months, we're coming for you. Thanks for the sweet, snowy memory.

Twelve years ago, he sweetly asked for forever.  YES!  Best decision ever.  It has ALWAYS been you.  And, it keeps getting better!

It Feels Like

Friday, February 12, 2016

It's a four-day weekend!  My valentines are out!  Aren't they cute?  My heart is full and light.  And the weather is just beyond beautiful.  It's very "cherry lips, crystal skies" or something.  Can't wait to celebrate with my love!  First up, our Friday date night and dance party!  Hip hip!

I Almost Forgot

Thursday, February 4, 2016

No, I didn't! Third place was all mine! Third! 12-4! The playoffs were super stressful and I could have taken the WHOLE thing if it weren't for a certain running back on the Arizona Cardinals having the GAME OF HIS LIFE! David Johnson, I'm looking at you. But I forgive you. You've made a new fan of me. And, I can finally enjoy Sundays. Husband too. I don't know who likes that more. Until next year!

P.S. 10-4 in basketball!
